Does Anyone Have Stories of the Anti-HIV Drugs, Being a "Miracle"?

Thanks versantly.

The first child born with HIV has since gotten married. He uses a condom when having sex with his wife (who is HIV negative and married him anyway) but one time hit broke and he fathered a child. His wife and son are both HIV negative. It was on 20/20 or Dateline a couple years ago.

look around you -20 years ago AIDS was a death sentence. today HIV+ and AIDS patients live full lives and even have children.

Don't believe in miracles. Things either work or they don't - whether we know the reasons, or not. However, I understand a friend of my own children's contracted HIV years ago, and has survived thanks to the drugs developed later.

The problem mostly with HIV is that they give you immunosupressants that trick your body into believing you don't have as much HIV virus so that you don't shut down. This leaves you vulnerable to everything else. It's unfortunate. There is more risk of being killed by simple things like the flu. There are people though who have lived for a VERY long time with HIV. I would talk to your doctor.

My ex and his HIV+ partner have been together for over 16 years. My ex's partner was positive before they met. They both live full and productive lives. Sex in their partnership is not an option. Both agreeded before they started their relationship that there would be no sex simply to assure absolutely no chance of my ex contracting HIV.

Since my ex is still my best friend for life, the drugs are a blessing for them and for myself. I will hate to see his partner die since they are very good for one another.

Of course there are many who would say that this isn't a "miracle" but the result of wasted science and resources. Those small minded people don't realize the advances in genetics and virus research that has been made due to HIV and other virus's.

sadly everyone that I have known with HIV has died. the saddest part was their last days in the hospital. i was devasted.
