What does hiv/aids do to your body? and can you still have kids????

It wrecks your immune system, which leads to contracting strange and awful diseases, like pneumonias caused by fungus, fungal infections of the brain, strange cancers and so on. The disease causes fatigue, fevers and nausea with consequent loss of appetite. Unfortunately, it doesn't destroy reproductive capacity, and infants can be born with the virus, or they can get it from their mother's milk. Truly a disease you don't want to get.
On the other hand, the virus is fragile. It will die if not kept at a temperature very close to that of the human body. It cannot tolerate dessication (getting dried out), and is vulnerable to all kinds of household chemicals (soap, alcohol, bleach, ammonia, etc.) In the USA, most cases are contracted by gays who refuse to use protection and by addicts who share needles. Latex condoms are very effective in preventing spread of the disease.

HIV is the virus, which u can carry in you for a long time without even knowing it. Aids is the thing that kills, it eats away at the immune system. Yes you can still have kids but you stand the chance of passing it on to them.

HIV is the virus that slowly destorys the cells incharge of protecting your whole body, your immune system. when your body defences are low, thats when you have the disease AIDS. HIV virus itself does not kill you. it just opens the doors for all other virus and bacterias out there to run havoc in your system.

with your natural defences down, those infections that normally are easily prevented from attacking your system is now given spreading all over. and your body can do nothing to stop it. this is what finally succumbs you.

as about having kids, you can still have kids when you are HIV positive. this is because the childs blood and mothers blood does not really mix together. they are separated by a thin membrane the the virus cannot get through.

if the spread occurs, its normally during the delivery process. thus the mother would require to have antibiotics given during the delivery and is best done via a ceaserean section as it would reduce the risk of infecting the child.

after delivery the child would require subsequent checks for many months before he/she can be said to have been infected or infection free.

HIV/AIDS is a virus that basically kills the immune system. The body is then unable to fight what normally would be minor illnesses. HIV is the condition after virus infects the body and you may be symptom free. Aids is when the disease has progressed and is now symptomatic.
You can become pregnant, the child of an HOV positive mother has between a 13-25% chance of contracting the disease IF mom is on antiviral therapy during the pregnancy. Infants infected at birth have a very poor prognosis and usually die at a very young age.
While it is true that mom and baby's blood do not intermingle across the placenta, there is usually contact during the birth process. Sometimes also depending on any other complications of pregnancy such as small infarcts in the placenta or an abruption then there is greater mingling of mom's and baby's blood, thus increasing chances of baby becoming infected

they kill you and it will kill your kids..

It weakens your immune system. Your immune system helps you fight off sickness. Once your immune system no longer works, your body can't fight off diseases like pneumonia and you could die. Once you have been diagnosed with HIV/AIDS and take the proper medication, you can live a very long life and you can still have children. You have to be honest to your partner and tell them your status so that you could protect yourself and others.
