HIV/aids in India. what should employees working in national aids contro programme do ?

do they also sit on strike,

like what everybody else is doing,

people here are working for more than 7 years, on contractual meagre salary, which is dismal low (lower than peon or sweeper working in same hospital is drawing) and they are post graduate guyis in psychology and social work with each having experience of more than 5 years and some even more than 10 years.

we don"t want to affect the health services,

going on strike means loosing contact with HIV positive people, who in huge numbers come to us for counselling everyday.

we are also less in numbers, around 100 in delhi.

it is a request to govt. please look at this cause also.

certainly striking is an option. You might help to organize your clients to advocate on your behalf.

Request for an increase in pay and when the demand is not granted, stage a strike.

Well, if they do a halfway job, you are probably hurting the cause. I would say strike or move to America for more money. Life could be worse, they could live in Pakistan!!!!
