There are no symptoms or signs specific to HIV or AIDS. HIV and AIDS attacks the immune system so that any illness or common bacteria, virus or infection which the body would normally fight off, these can now become serious conditions because the immune system is compromised and cannot do its job. The signs and symptoms one with HIV or AIDS shows are not symptoms of HIV or AIDS, they are symptoms of the viruses or infections the body is no longer able to fight off. Pneumonia is common in these patients, and some often have skin lesions; although these are symptoms that the disease has progressed to AIDS.

Now, even if your neighbor had this, there would be no reason to panic. You cannot get HIV or AIDS from breathing the same air or shaking hands or any other normal activity. HIV and AIDS are spread through bodily fluids, so basically you'd have to have unprotected sex with someone with HIV or AIDS or their blood would have to enter your body in some way (like through needles...this is how some drug users end up with HIV/AIDS) in order for you to catch it from them. Please don't be afraid. Don't panic, and don't be mean. And if you do find out your neighbor has HIV/AIDS, give him or her a hug. It is a horrible disease, but with the medications available today, it does not have to be a death sentence.

well your neighbor could be sick with something else like cancer .. One cannot just assume its hiv or aids. Usually there can be no symptoms for a while or when first infected they can have flu like symptoms. But really if this "neighbor" is you I think you should just get tested and not determine based on what some yahoo answers people tell you.

There are no symptoms of HIV infection, other than a slight flu-like period shortly after infection - this clears up quickly, and is not experienced by everyone.

AIDS is a condition where the immune system stops working. It doesn't cause any symptoms itself. What does cause symptoms are the various diseases you might get after your immune system is damaged. These include pneumonia, viral infections, and infections of the brain.

The drugs used to boost the immune system and control viral load can also cause symptoms.

Most people with good medical care have no symptoms of HIV or AIDS for the most part.

There are a lot of symptoms of hiv and aids that can also be related to other diseases. so be very careful how you interpret the answers you get. A little knoledge can be dangerous. Good luck.

HIV, or the human immunodeficiency virus, is a sexually transmitted disease that assails the immune system. The virus attacks your CD4 cells (or T4 cells), which are necessary to fight off illnesses. Eventually, the virus overwhelms the CD4 cells and your body becomes unable to fight off diseases and infections

Make sure you dont confuse HIV WITH LUPUS, The symptoms are very similar

Lupus
Systemic Lupus 鈥?This is when the immune system attacks more than one part of the body. There are a variety of symptoms that can result from systemic lupus, including arthritis, rash, fever, headaches, hair loss, fatigue and muscle pain. Some patients will only experience a few of these symptoms, while others will suffer from them all.

Discoid Lupus 鈥?Discoid Lupus is when the immune system attacks the skin itself. Symptoms are primarily rashes, sensitivity to light and occasional facial ulcers.

suddenly loosing ur weight.
problem in your health.
if you became ill it takes much time to recover than usual.
tb glands in your lymph nodes.
sudden change in the color of urine.

There's no visible symptoms of HIV infection until it becomes fullblown AIDS. This is one reason why this is such a dangerous disease -- people who don't know they are infected continuing in risky behavior, spreading it further.

However, unless you or someone you know are sharing that risky behavior with that person, why do you need to know? If you're sympathetic and want to help, you could simply ask if something's wrong, and they'll tell you if they want you to know. If you ARE sharing needles or having sex with them, then I certainly hope they would have told you by now anyway... or you could ask they be tested. Or test yourself.

All of HIV/AIDS symptoms are symptoms of something else. HIV doesn't make you sick, it lets other things make you sick.

Why do you need to know if this neighbour has HIV? Unless you have unprotected sex or share a syringe or come in contact with his blood, you won't catch it.

It is none of your business.

HIV is a virus that eventually lead to AIDS. There are really no signs in the early stages. However, to get the facts, visit webmd.com

There are no signs that would be apparent to an outsider that was not infected personally. With that said, initially upon infection, you would get flu-like symptoms.

There are many symptoms, but none that I could describe to you that you could make a judgement like that on someone else. For one thing they could be suffering from something else, like cancer that is making them frail or sickly. If you're curious out of fear, you have no need to worry unless you have intimate contact with them.

My suggestion would be go to CDC.gov or google HIV signs & symptoms if you want details. Other than a blood test, with confirmation, there is NO WAY to tell.

BTW, HIV is the virus in an HIV infection, while AIDS is "acquired immune deficiency syndrome", which is brought on later in the disease by the HIV virus.
