What are the early signs of AIDS/HIV?

I had 2 unprotected sex... im pretty sure i didn't caught any disease... but sometims i feel paranoid. I havn't seen or felt any symptons. And it's been almost a year i havn't had sex... And i feel completely normal. If i have had Aids/HIV or STD... What are the signs i would be seeing... . I would just like to know... for anyone who has experience or have knowledge of this sort of topic.

As far as I have been told, there are no specific signs of AIDS/HIV. For other STDs, common signs usually include sores and bumps around the locations of intercourse. Search for specific STD for more in-depth information.

I was once paranoid about getting HIV too! I talked to my doctor, and she told me to get tested. It got back negative. The test is 99% accurate after 6 months of initial exposure, so she suggested me to abstain from sex for 6 months and get tested again. I did (amazingly) and it was negative. Depending on the kind of test you have, the duration may be different, but a year should be enough for most.

Other STDs should be tested as well if you are worried, because a lot of them are latent until a random moment. But more importantly, safe sex should be practiced at all times: I learned an important lesson yesterday when I heard about my 'ex' just got tested positive of syphilis and I was probably the source. It never hits you until the victim is your loved one.

The first signs of HIV infection may be swollen glands and flu-like symptoms. These may come and go a month or two after infection. Severe symptoms may not appear until months or years later. A blood test can tell if you have HIV infection

Save yourself some worry, get tested as soon as possible.

Please go to Planned Parenthood or your local clinic and get checked out. HIV is not the only sexually transmitted disease out there. Let them check you out and make sure you don't have anything, then they can help you get condoms so you don't have to go through this again.

Best of luck.
