I want to get fake salon nails, but if I do will I get fungus? I am kinda scared I will. So should I?

This is a first time thing, other than fake store bought nails. I know a few people that get them. Their nails haven't gotten any diseases, so I think I could once or twice[no more times than twice] But I have heard people say you can get fungus,HIV/AIDS or other diseases. But the nails are so pretty. I know your nails can get soft, but I guess I can work with that and get them stronger after a few weeks. But the question is 'Should I?'

I've never had them before. My friend used to get them all the time and she did end up getting a fungus under one of them, but all she had to do was put some medication on or under her nail. I think they're all right if you keep your nails clean. You should also check out a reputable place to get them done. Some places are kinda gross and don't clean their tools. Nice places always open a new set of tools. I don't think you could get HIV/AIDS from them though. Pretty sure of that.....do you know how many people get their nails done? I just wouldn't wear them all the time, let your real nails breathe sometime.

This isn't meant to be racist at all, but i've found that the places with the asian ladies that do your nails really fast and impersonal tend to be the places that you get fungus from. Go to a well known salon with people who you can express your concerns to. If the salon is up to health code, you won't have any worries about getting infectious diseases from previous customers who had their nails done before you.

Go to a good place, and as long as there are no air bubbles under the nails you should be fine. I was told my by mom ( who has gotten the fungus before) had air bubbles under her nails and so moisture collected and caused a fungus. So make sure they do it right, and no air bubbles. She told me, my fake nails i got from the store and glued on my self, would cause fungus if they got air bubbles underneath. So i think that is what happens. but maybe not, go to a salon and ask, also you could google it.

im pretty sure that you cant get hiv/aids from fake nails! its basically build up dirt and bacteria under the nail. you CAN get a fungal infection! basically your nails can not breath and therefor fungus builds up. anti-fungal meds can cause liver damage, and cause serious problems. im not faking this at all, my mom is a nurse and deals with patients like this all the time, you may think its harmless, but it would be best if you would just stay away from it for now! grow out your nails, that's what i do.

Actually you get not only soft nails, HIV, Aids, and fungus, you also get:
-tongue swelling
-nerve dysfunction
-liver failure
-heart murmurs
-athletes foot
-brain damage
-spinal curving
-broken limbs
-nasal clogging
-eye irritation
-warts, moles and other unpleasant skin marks
-hand cramping
-constipation
-blood clotting
-chapped lips
-osteoporosis
-bloating
-hair loss
-racing thoughts
-unusually high energy
-kidney failure
-cold sores
-fluctuations in temperature
-dry skin
-hearing loss
-swimmers ear
-blindness
-error with hox genes, (limbs appear in incorrect places)
-lice
-bladder infection
-dandruff
-dirt under finger nails
-wrinkles
-upset stomach

And multiple unexplainable diseases, but thats a small price to pay for beauty!!!

ive had them twice before.
nothing happened to me.
HIV and AIDS? who have you been listening to .lol
i think you should. but dont get them too much they are very bad for your nails they thin them out totally
but dont worry you wont have a problem unless you donr wash your hands... lol which im sure you do anyway in every day life..

they thin your real nail. to put the fake ones on.
and if you do get fake ones i suggest also after a few weeks getting them removed from the same place you had them done.. pulling them off urself can hurt

The laws for a clean spa/salon are very strict these days. Just make sure the place is squeaky clean!!! If you don't feel comfortable just leave. Ask your friends or co-workers or close people around you what place they like.
Good luck!
Oh, and it's healthier just to get a pedicure and manicure... if you get fake nails they will ruin your real nails. But, it's your choice.

make sure u go to a clean place. there are risks of getting fungus but they arent that high depending on where you go. if i were you i would go to a place in a nice mall. there usually clean. . . but stop being so paranoid about it . it's not that crucial. all u have 2 do is just be careful where u go. ask your friends where they get there's done.

Yes, you should. I've heard that you can get like fungus or whatever but that's only if you go to someone that doesn't know what they are doing. What I suggest you do is check some places out and maybe ask some of your friends for some recommendations but don't just go ANYWHERE.

Yeah, go ahead, I have gotten them done a bunch of times. I prefer silk tips, and I hear they do less damage than other kinds but are a little more expensive. I have never gotten an infection from them, but I would make sure you get them done in a place that looks clean and trustworthy.

You won't get any diseases from it. Idk where you heard that. If you want them, get them. They do ruin your natural nails though. They'll make little ridges in them, and they'll be paper thin. Once you start getting them done, it will be hard to stop. It's kind of like drugs, ha.

Yeah, don't do it. My sister has gotten very disgusting infections from salon nails. It may the quality of the salon or nail used, but i wouldn't risk it either way.

You need to decide. I've been wearing them for years but that's mostly because my real nails are junk. I have not gotten fungus but keep in mind that the upkeep costs time and money - and removing them is painful.

Get them. Just make sure the salon in reputable and the implements are new or sanitized. I have done nails and wore them myself for years with no problems. You might try gel nails they are beautiful and more natural nail friendly.

Yes, you can get infections from fake nails, and they will also damage your real nail. You need to find a clean salon, that effectively cleans all their instruments.

uh i don't think its dangerous at all, but you could try reading this article then deciding..

You could get a fungus or infection from going to any nail salon.. depending on how clean they are of course. Just heads up.. when you end up taking the tips off.. your nails will be very sensitive.... and yes.. very soft and vulnerable.

your not gunna get fungus if you go to a clean place and i think its a little unlikely to get HIV/AIDS from a nail salon. i think you`ll be okay.

i've been getting my nails done for years and have never had any fungus or disease problems.... go to a legit salon and everything will be sanitized.

My mom has fake nails on all the time and she has had them for many years, she has never gotten a fungus. Go ahead and do it!

i doutbt it but to be extra careful bring your own manicure kit, you can get them cheap

u can get aids by open wounds not fake nails. go to a shop where your friends go.

Long nails trap dirt and bacteria anyway. I would avoid the fake long nails too.

You have to go to a reputable place. I got a fungus on my finger from one nail shop, and stopped going there.

No you shouldn't.

Its funny how you ask random people how you should live your life.

DO WHAT YOU WANT

isn't that like one in ten chances? get your nails done naturally by a professional.

Go to a safe nail salon that you trust and go for it. Ive had them before and I was fine.

choose a place that sanitizes their implements thoroughly.

no that doesn't happen to like anybody?

ew no. if the salon is clran you shouldn't get fungus.

yeah go head.

Y would u get fungus? That's would be because u aren't cleaning ur nails very well..lol

Don't worry...get them...they r pretty!鈾?/div>
