How do a person get hiv/aid while having sex?

like if you wear a condom don't it keep you safe. If you clean yourself like take a shower b/4 sex isn't clean to be safe?

Condoms can always break. As long as you are wearing a condom and it doesnt break, you are safe, but if it breaks, you could easily catch it. Some people think that the reason hiv is being spread so quickly through Thailand, is because not only is the sex trade one factor, but the girls who do it for money always take showers before they have sex with a man and this may actually INCREASE the odds of the man catching it from her or her catching it from him because she is removing natural lubrication which causes friction and also sometimes bleeding, which makes it even easier to contract. As far as "double bagging it" aka using 2 condoms, this may or may not be better because many people have said that wearing 2 condoms creates more friction and the 2 rubbing up against each other may cause them both to break so this actually may be less effective than one.

AIDS is caused by a virus (HIV). A woman can get HIV during oral, vaginal or anal sex if her partner has HIV, because an HIV-positive man鈥檚 semen can contain the virus. During oral, vaginal or anal sex, an HIV-positive man鈥檚 semen may enter the woman through certain cells in the mucus lining or through tiny cuts and tears in the mouth, vagina or anus. This could cause her to become infected.

A man can also get HIV during oral, vaginal or anal sex if his partner has HIV and is exposed (usually through his penis) to her blood or vaginal fluid.

When used the right way every time, condoms greatly reduce the risk of HIV transmission during sex. When they break, it is usually because of improper use. Condoms are more likely to break during anal sex than during vaginal sex. Even with a condom, anal sex is risky. If one partner has HIV, a couple should consider erotic activities that do not involve contact with the vagina, penis or anus. It is important to remember that blood, semen and vaginal fluid that have HIV can spread the virus.

And no, a shower can't prevent you from contracting the disease.

condoms do not always keep you safe because the condom could break. I guess that is why they say you should use two condoms at all times but not to many people do this. but HIV and AIDS are passed by body fluids such as sperm, vaginal fluids and blood. Taken a shower is not a good choose at all to stay safe. the only thing a shower does is take the funky smell off of you. Kissing someone will not give you HIV/AIDS that is not enough body fluids.

the only way to prevent transmission of HIV is by wearing a latex (or polyurethane if you have a latex allergy) condom. you also need to use it correctly. the virus is in the fluids that come out during sex (semen, vaginal lubrication) so taking a shower before will have no effect.

Hiv can enter into your body through an opening in your skin. This occurs when you mix any type of bodily fluids. It can be a cut, pimple, or even a natural opening like the hole you urinate from. Condoms reduce the chance but are not 100 percent safe neither does being clean reduce the chances at all.

Its contracted through change of fluids. No amount of showers will help, once its in your body, youve got aids.
