Can you contract AIDS or HIV from a mosquito bite who previously bit someone with HIV or AIDS?

no...animals cant carry the virus thats why they call Human Immunodeficiency Virus : )

Mosquitoes cant get hiv or aids because mosquitoes have been on earth much longer than humans so their bodies have had more time to evolve and become immune to it. But whoever said animals can not get it is not true because theres many chimpanzees who have it. Chimpanzees can get hiv (many of them are immune to it like mosquitoes but not all of them) but they can not progress into aids. Ive worked for both sides, the pharmaceutical companies that test on them (Roche), and the companies who save them from the testing(savethechimps), so I have actually been around alot of this. But mosquitoes can not transmit it.

Absolutely not.

The mechanics behind mosquitoe bites do not allow for the transfer of HIV.

Yes certain types of mosquitoes can carry other illnesses, but not HIV.

And, looking at the epidemiological data, we would be seeing a completely different picture if HIV was spread by mosquitoes. Lots of young children being HIV+ without any risk factors, etc.

So, absolutely not. Mosquitoes cannot transmit HIV

yes if the mosquito bit someone who hv HIV and it ended up bitting you then yes you are likely to get HIV...well from what my mom told me

Um for the answer above...ANIMALS CAN CARRY VIRUS! Argh just look at the apes and monkeys! They don't even no what Aids and HIV is and they go crazy having sex with whoever.

No. HIV is a virus, and doesn鈥檛 do so well outside the human body. Once in the mosquito, the HIV would die very quickly. The mosquito never becomes HIV-infected, and nobody has ever become HIV-infected from a mosquito bite.

no the AIDS virus cannot survive in any organism except human being so there is no threat of AIDS if u get a bite from a mosquito who has just bitten a HIV infected human.
