Can u get HIV/AIDS from sharing razors with a close family member?

my brother uses a scissor which is meant for shaving his facial hair, it used to be my dads shaving scissors as well. now i use it sometimes, is it possible for me to get AIDS from doing that because they could of got cuts or something. my family has no history of HIV/AIDS

I am a Certified Medical Assistant
Here is HIV/AIDS 101
If the person has HIV/AIDS and they cut themselves with the razor and then you use it and cut yourself with it YES you can get it. Be advised it can take 15 to 20 years for a Positive result. Anytime you come in contact with bodily functions of a person infected with HIV/AIDS there is a chance you can contract it

The BLOOD does NOT have to be wet like someone posted
Some of these posters need to take a class or two. Kissing doesn't transmit AIDS unless there is an open sore.
OPEN CUTS, SORES, SEX, NEEDLES THAT IS HOW YOU GET IT

I really don't think you will get it if they don't have it, that is highly unlikely. However, don't ever share anything with anyone that has a possibility of breaking the skin. There are other infections and diseases besides HIV/AIDS that can be spread. If I were you I would find a way to get my own NEW razor.

If your family has no history of HIV/AIDS, why are you wondering? The only way you can get HIV/AIDS through contact like this is if the other person cuts themselves and you use the razor/scissors directly after them while the blood is still wet.

If they have the disease, then yes you can get infected that way. Either way, HIV or not, just don't share razors with anyone. It's not only safer but sanitary as well. There are other viral diseases out there besides just AIDS.

You can transmit hepatitis and other diseases if you share unsterilized instruments that can potential cause a cut.

Why don't you just get your own razor? I wouldn't share mine with anybody. That way you don't have to worry about getting HIV, hepatitis, or cooties.

I doubt it. It's only a risk if anyone in your household has HIV/AIDS. If everyone's been tested HIV negative then youre good to go.

no

if they have it

if he/she gets a cut the u get one with the same razor then yea

no it has to be bodliy stuff such as kissing sex blood
