No, if a parent of yours had an STD, other than HIV, it would have to be the mother who had it for you to get it, and she would have to have had it at the very time that you were born.

No, typically they are only transmitted by Sexual contact. However, lets say a pregnant woman has herpes, she could pass herpes onto her baby if she is having any signs of an outbreak when she gives birth naturally. Herpes can be very dangerous to a newborn. Other than situations like that, STD's can only be passed from sexual contact.

HIV is NOT necessarily acquired by babies born to HIV positive mothers. Even if it that was necessarily the case, this does not indicate that it is a genetic disease.

S stands for sexually, T for transmitted. They are sexually transmitted diseases. This means you get them from having sex.

there are alot of STD that can be passed on from your parents. if the mother has AIDS while pregnant the child WILL have AIDS as well.
