Can you go back to having HIV after having full blown aids? |
Thanks to all of you i always knew the answer was no but i just had to check. As many have answered no. Once you have been diagnosed with AIDS you will always be clinically diagnosed with AIDS regardless. However understand that the person can rebound to healthier state with meds in time even though your immune system will never be the same. Some people with AIDS are prone to sicknesses and others may be in better health once on meds etc.... Not all people with AIDS are the same. Some people fit the CDC criteria for AIDS just by the lab numbers and others fall in to AIDS for other chronic sicknesses etc.. No.. Once diagnosed with AID it doesn't change, but to be diagnosed as having AIDS mean the person's T cell are 200 or less, with that said, I know people who had their T cells below 200 and have gone back up to 500 or higher. So He could think he went back to HIV, but once diagnosed with AIDS it isn't changed. if you have full blown aids you wont live long enough to have HIV again. lol No, once your immune system has collapsed to that extent, you will never go back to having just HIV. It is a progressive illness unfortunately. NO, once you have AID's, you are in trouble, it's nasty with no cure Absolutely not. There is no cure for AIDS, or HIV for that matter, just treatment to put off the inevitable...death. no No, once you have full blown AIDS you're CD4 (basically white blood cell) count has dropped below 200, once you reach this point, there's nothing no one can do for you. Acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) is the final stage of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). |
