Can you remember how good the 1970,s were compered to now.?

Summers were dryer/hotter
Music was REAL music
Less cars on the road
Football had not yet been ruined by the money (although it was starting to get there)
There was less greed AND less debt (You could not just borrow money left right and centre like you can now) That was not a bad thing. YOU CANT spend more money that you earn
People would smile and say hello, Now all you get is a nasty glare from people.
EVERYTHING was not "Made in china"
Cars could be fixed by "dave down the street" for a couple of quid when they broke.
The City centre high street was not like a "Ghost town"
No nasty HIV/AIDS
For the under 30,s You missed out BIG STYLE. HONESTLY they were better times.
What is your opinion
Thanks.

I was only 4 in 1970 so missed out on a lot of what you describe but we live in 2009 so have to make the best of what we have....

If we continue to look back we may miss new opportunities.... besides which racism, homophobia & sexism was rife then.....

I just graduated out of high school [1970] there were less gun violence , less school overcrowding , jobs were plenty , singers didn't dress like who*res to get people to buy they're records , and in my neighborhood we didn't have to lock our doors and we left the keys in the car without being worried about it being taken , we had 8track tapes which I still have and still play

i lived in the 70's . Plain Jane women. Discos. Crappy cars. No cell phones. Jimmy Carter and the long gas lines. Horrible t.v. shows .
Inflation . Crappy 8 tracks and scratchy records . Pimps and Ho's .
Huge cars 20 feet long . No computers. Pong. No microwaves. No cable, just crappy 19 inch t.v.'s with horrible reception No vhs movies, no DVD's,
no recording show to watch later. Donny and Marie .
Yeah, it was a blast alright .

I recall the 70's as being pretty grotty.
Strikes, galloping inflation, power-cuts, riots.
Crap TV, just three channels.
Seriously dodgy fashions. Hit and miss music.
Pathetic choice of food stuffs.
No dvds, No Internet, and 'ping' was as good as it got with video games!

Give me the 21st century any time!

No way. At least We don't get this sort of thing anymore: http://www.omodern.com/
