How will a person come to know that a spouse is infected with AIDS or HIV before or after marriage? |
How will a person come to know that a spouse is infected with AIDS or HIV before or after marriage? But asking that a Test be done. In California you are no longer required to be tested before you get married. My husband and I didn't know I had HIV until after we got married (I was pregnant and it was tests I requested). Neither of us had any reason to get testes since we were both virgins when we met each other and we had not done drugs. I on the other hand am adopted and I got it from my birth mother. Good question, really. The last time I checked on this, there is a 6 to 12 month window where it might not show up on testing. Scary stuff and a good reason to wait for sex and know the person before having unprotected sex with him or her. I've been told that a test is done when you apply for a marriage liscense. Also if you are concerned go in for a test now, or when ever. I certainly would hope that a person with HIV would let their partner know of the disease long before they became their spouse. A person will come to know this by demanding both parties take blood tests. If someone KNOWS they have HIV or AIDS and DON'T tell a person they are sexually active with, it's a crime. You have to get tested in order to get married. go for a medical check up |
