Why do so many gay men pretend that HIV isn't a threat?

I've heard and even met some members of the gay community who have had unprotected sex before, some of them with complete strangers. It's really scary to know that there are still lots of people who like to pretend that HIV and AIDS aren't real, and that AIDS doesn't kill tens of thousands of people worldwide each year.

Let's follow the condom code, people! It's the only way to get rid of AIDS once and for all!

And the same goes to straight couples who have unprotected sex because they think AIDS is a gay-exclusive disease.

I really care about my health, i don't usually have sex with strangers. That's not me, i usually like ot get to know better and seek honest answer if they're clean with not sexual diseases. I wished that other gay men would really careful and use protections for safe-sex.

That pisses me off. Especially when a person lies about being clean , and then you find out later that they werent and then youre stuck with it for life. Happened to someone i know and it made me so angry. Seriously, give your fella some protection

Considering I am not sexually active and don't share needles... I think I am safe. :)

However, if I was active, it'd be a completely different story. I respect my body.

My partner and I are married so we go unprotected, and I still get checked for HIV (even though its been a while).

because people are idiots and think it is ok to have unsafe sex.

1) Use Condom
2) Stop being gay
3) find a girl
