Is this a good argument for the legalization of drugs? Why or why not? |
http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/03/24/m... The Buffalo, if we legalized drugs and produced them here, the demand in Mexico would go way down... or we could obviously legalize them here for production here, and still not allow importation from other countries... it would cripple the drug dealers in Mexico, as the price of drugs here would go way down, and they couldn't find industrial production here. Drugs are illegal? Since when, the biggest contributor to heroine addiction is a prescription drug called Oxycontin. Oh, and let's not forget about the drunk women who drove her vehicle into a car loaded with four kids last week killing them all, including my friend daughter. Look it up she was 15, Erica Haudek. Yes, very good. The demand will always be there, you can't change addictive behavior just because you want it to change. I think it's a good idea. At least for marijuana. Maybe not ALL drugs. Some drugs are dangerous. i saw that on CNN also i do think they should. only marijuana. they can tax the hell out of that i wouldn't mind that alcohol can be more dangerous than that most of the time I am not sure were the answer lies, but one thing for sure...the war on drugs is a farce. sure, why not? Here in my town the police want the drugs to stay illegal so they can lock up people and this will give police, lawyers, and judges jobs. If it is legal then the police may be out of a job. We would need all cars and guns that would not allow the user to operate under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Then we would have to determine how to deal with the problems of addiction. Do you throw the addicts away? Do you allow them to become addicted then spend tax payer money to rehabilitate or care for them? What do you do with the addicts that are unemployed and steal to support their habits? Yes, but we will never legalize drugs in that way. If we were to do that we would be alienating ourselves with Mexico who is trying to get rid of the drugs. Legalize drugs... Personal choices shouldn't be dictated by the government. Whether someone else views my choice as good or bad, it's still my choice... And government should have no say in the matter as long as I am not harming another person or his property. |
