Is Magic Johnson not the fattest, healthiest person you ever saw with HIV?

Maybe its just a conspiracy, as long as you have money maybe you can buy a cure or something. I am watching him commentate in the Lakers game right now and he just looks so healthy. And really how many of the rich and famous have you ever heard of having HIV these days. Maybe there really is a cure but the drug companies keep it all covered up so they can profit from sick people. Yeah, I know probably not, but it is an interesting thought. Any opinions?

Magic Johnson has had HIV for YEARS and it still hasn't developed into AIDS. The reason behind it? He has the money for all of those super expensive medications. He's healthy and doing good... but it's not reality for "normal" people who can't afford all their medications.

There is nothing "magic" about that, and you don't have to be wealthy to get these medications in most parts of the industrialised world. They are standard medical treatment for HIV. They are even increasingly available in poorer parts of the world these days.

Magic Johnson is chubby around the face because he's a little overweight, which is pretty common in elite athletes once they retire from professional sport and get older. Lipodystrophy is not the same as being overweight - it is a redistribution of body fat, usually away from the face.

It's called Lipodystrophy. It's a side effect from HIV meds where you gain weight in certain areas.

I love me a good ol' conspiracy theory but the whole cure for HIV one just doesn't make sense. If I was a drug company and I had the cure for HIV/AIDS, I would profit the most by publicizing as much as possible about the fact that my drug company found the cure. My stock prices would go through the roof and my company would forever be associated with this particular drug. International governments would be paying me lots of money to be able to replicate the med in their country. It doesn't make sense to keep that info hidden. There's too much $$$ to be made by putting it out there.

Also Rich and famous people don't put their diagnosis out there but statistically speaking they're out there.

If you want to know the answer to that question, do a little reading on Dr. Peter Duesberg, Martin Lara, Christine Maggiore, ( yes, she's dead ) and others. As for Magic Johnson, he does not have anything, other than a lot of money.
