Has anyone heard there is no such thing as aids?

I was told that hiv is a virius and there is no such thing as aids it was made up by the pharmacitacal compainies to sell drugs. and people were dying because of the drugs. one guy had it was taking med and getting sicker every day. stopped taking med because he couldn't afford it and got better. Has anyone else heard of this?

In response to the first part. HIV is the virus. AIDS is the clinical syndrome that advanced HIV infection causes by killing off your CD4+ T cells (which are part of your immune system), thus making you susceptible to opportunistic infections.

Let's take a step back and think about this. What is more likely, the fact that one person is allergic to the medicine they are given, or millions of people in Africa who are receiving no medicine are dying for no reason? You decide!

Having watched a good friend of mine slowly die of HIV/AIDS I can tell you that it is in fact a real thing. The guy that may have "got better" could have been feeling better but in no way is he completely "cured". There is currently no cure for HIV.

HIV(or human immunodeficiency virus) is the virus which causes AIDS (not everyone with HIV gets AIDS) which stands for acquired immunodeficiency syndrome which basically kills of the bodies natural ability to fight disease. This is why a patient who is diagnosed with HIV/AIDS can die of something as curable as the flu or pneumonia...they no longer have any type of immune system to fight the infection.

I hope that helps, and I really do wish that it wasn't an actual thing but I have seen first hand that it is and many many people die of HIV/AIDS each year.

Aids is full blown HIV All drugs have side effects like it or not

Not everyone with HIV or AIDS knows they have it until they start to get sick so that wouldn't make sense.
