Wouldn't that be funny if video games had real life Consequences?

Such as you are playing with two characters to have sex in the sims and it would pop up on the screen "Uh oh you've just contracted aids/Hiv from a friend beacause of a promiscuous lifestyle. or in Grand theft Auto the cops would always be hassling you because you are drug dealer or pimp in the video game. wouldn't that be strange to have that kind of game or would it make it better because it is more real?

Nah! not funny at all! We have enough "real life consequences" to deal with as it is. We play the video games to get AWAY from real life and its not so always happy consequences. We get to feel like we are accomplishing something, we feel a sense of power and control. And we get something we don't often get in real life, MORE THAN ONE CHANCE to get it right. It's easier because we can see the difference when we change our gaming behavior and techniques. That takes a long time to happen in real life.

That is why the games are so darn addicting! Funny, no, Scary, Oh Yessssssssss.

I'd certainly get a kick out of the Sims one. However, I think people draw the line on what they want to be realistic in a game. They'd rather have more of the GOOD realistic traits than the bad. I suspect people would eventually stop buying the games if they kept encountering problems. It would be like causing the cops to pull you over in GTA if you ran a red light. Nobody would buy it anymore.

No it would put you off games. What if you were playing mario brothers would you want a big monster coming over or giant mushrooms in your yard?
