Would you worry if you were me?

So i had sex with this guy who was once a heroin addict and a drug dealer.

he used to shoot up heroin 10 times a day and would sometimes sell drugs to prostitutes in return for sex.

In 2003 he was arrested and sentenced to time in jail. before going to jail he was given an HIV test. his blood tested negative for any HIV antibodies.

He is currently on parole and meets with his parole officer once a week. i have known him for eight months and we had sex for the first time about a week and a half ago.

first we had vaginal sex using a condom. then we had anal sex also using a condom, but it broke before he ejaculated. after about two unprotected thrusts i had realized it broke and made him put on a new one. he ejaculated into the condom.

he has a lot of pre ejaculatory fluid and i was bleeding after.

Should I be concerned about HIV? Would you be concerned if you were me?

Clearly you are trying to temp fate.

First anal sex is more likely to get you infected with HIV than vaginal sex if he is positive, you said you were bleeding and guess what that means your insides were torn from the sex which allows HIV virus to enter your body.

Second if he is a drug user and frequents prostitutes its likely that he will have HIV either now or in the future.

Third, even if he has HIV and you use a condom your not 100% safe. Condoms break as you found out, and it only takes one microscopic virus in the right place to give you HIV.

If I were you I would see a mental health expert because your getting very close to suicidal behavior. That or your self estem is lower than it should be. This guy is a loser. And considering he appears to enjoy anal sex, one might wonder if he is bisexual and therefore has another risk factor for getting HIV.

Do yourself a favor and make a choice... write out your will and letters to all your loved ones because your killing yourself, or drop this guy and move on with your life.

At any rate check yourself in 6 months and then again in 1 year just to be safe.

You have already done it knowing fully well the consequences. How much safe are you with a guy who has frequented prostitutes and is a dope peddlar, an addict himself?
You are buying trouble lady. Condom or no condom, you are going to be at the recieving end.

-You have had a sex not safety at all!. Both of you should control the HIV test. If the test be negative, you will check it 1 more time after 6 month to be sure because of the "window" period

You dumb *****. It says right on the condom "condoms do not protect against HIV or AIDS. This one's going to be fun to explain to a doctor. "i was getting butt ****** by this guy....and now i have aids...."

It is a very bad idea to associate with people who were/are drug dealers/heroin addicts. It is an even worse idea to have sex with them.
You might want to ask yourself why you became involved with him in the first place. It seems you are looking for serious trouble.

well clearly, the answer is yes, simply because your asking this question on yahoo questions.
so he tested negative for HIV,however, it sounds as though you do not trust him. i would certainly obtain a doctors advice and get tested.

there are other std's that are worrisome as well. in the case of hcv-hepatitis c. i would ask for an antibody test as not always will a liver panel be indicative of infection due to the alt and ast levels-sometimes they are in normal ranges and you can still be infected. hcv is spread through blood to blood cross contamination.
