I have a question about AIDS and homosexuality?

Why do pharmaceutical companies that make drugs for HIV/AIDS advertise almost exclusively in gay newspapers and magazines and not mainstream publications?

Because people are in denial about just how many heterosexuals have HIV/AIDs and so heterosexuals don't want to think they might need these meds whereas the gay community has been so affected they welcome the latest and greatest drugs.

Forgot about Africa? You are likely US&Eurocentric. Gays may be the demographic of pharma companies, because they have $$, but there's still deniability among heteros worldwide about who's spreading the disease. Report It

Becasue AIDS is still seen as primarily a gay disease

Because tahts Who spreads the disgusting disease the most

ONE TENDS TO SEE ADS IN MAGAZINES THEY READ.......

because gay magazines are fabulous. hehehe...

You mean in the US, right? Because if you're talking about AIDS in other areas of the world, like Africa, they SHOULD be advertising in mainstream publications... virtually all cases effect hetersexuals.

But to assume you meant the US, it's because the media and the populace have (wrongly) associated AIDS with homosexuality. It's "the gay disease" and to advertise in mainstream mags would be suggesting that hetersexuals are succeptible.

To maintain the comfortable status quo, publishers will allow most straights to keep their heads buried deep in the sand.

Aids usually starts with the gays, and most magazines don't want to deal with them in the mainstream.

Is it because God sent AIDS to punish gays?

Because most of the people with HIV are reading those magazines?

Common sense. Will you sell a 787 airplane to Princess Cruises? Or will you offer to a hardware store to sell pies and cakes?
Does that answer your question?

they do advertise in mainstream mags.
obviously you read mainly gay mags to come to that conclusion.
or, of course, you could just be ignorant and generalising as many people do.

Many gay men feel they don't need to use condoms because they neither have to worry about getting another man pregnant or themselves becoming pregnant, so many male/male relationships go on without condoms, thus spreading AIDS more easily than in a sexual encounter where a condom was used. (source 1) Male pre-*** or orgasm also more easily spreads the virus than female orgasm, which actually makes Lesbians one of the groups least likely to contract AIDS. There is very little medical documentation at all of woman-to-woman HIV infection. (source 2)
