Sore Throat and Hiv?

I have had unprotected oral sex with a man, and now, I have a sore throat. My doctor did mono/strep/thyroid tests, but all came back negative.It mostly starts to hurt a bit, and then the throat just feels like it is being cut up and it is difficult to swallow!Doctor gave me dexamethasone, and that seems to help take some of the pain away, and also at night, I am waking up sweating on my back and neck....could it be the drug the doctor gave me? Should I go and get tested for HIV...plus, I am coughing up crap from my lungs as well! Starting to get quite nervous! Any help would be great!

Risk also appears to increase with the amount of your partner's fluids that contact your mouth and throat. If there is blood in these fluids, that probably increases the risk as well.


and how long ago did you take the test? if it was a few days ago, I'd go over there they MIGHT already have them...most places won't give results over the phone....in my case "no news is good news" my doc only calls if something is wrong or abnormal.....good luck i'm sure you're fine though...it takes up to 2-4 weeks for someone to have early symptoms like that.....as far as the night sweats....Could it be that where ever you are it might be hot in your house or apartment? or maybe you're dressed too warmly and using too many comforters?? i had strep throat last week and sounds like your symptons i was burning up one minute then cold with pains in my head back and neck go back to doctors for a second opinion

Get a second opinion babe go to another doc honey maybe a 3rd doctor who knows... It could be nothing be it is your health get checked out God lonely knows what you have right now go to a gynecologist my dear ask a lot of questions get pamphlets...Go on the Internet look up things for yourself..Like, what can cause your throat to be soar after oral sex?.. Was this guy being unkind to you with his dick? Does he still call you after the fact? Are was this a 1 time thing for you guys? Did you know anything about this guy? It's never a bad idea to get tested for HIV, if for no other reason than for peace of mind.

If you are questioning whether you should get tested for HIV, then you should get tested for HIV.

It sounds like you have an infection in your throat. It is possible that you could have gonorreah or chlamydia. You should get tested for those.
