People a serious question..?

Wars, 5 million new HIV infections every year, violent crime, famine and poverty, environmental degradation/pollution,global warming, genetically modified foods and fake drugs lining pockets of multi national conglomerates and corporations.The mass media through clever advertising duly duping multitudes into unhealthy habits like eating junk food,smoking or taking diet pills and anti depressants before bedtime day in day out....

I do not mean to say that for the last example people do not require these if they have a health problem.However if this is what keeps people going in this world,what is the sign?

I think, that maybe humanity is entering self-destruct mode. Because in the previous centuries, we never had any of these problems. And now all of a sudden there's diseases and wars and poverty and crap like that, which sort of makes me think that as we destroy the world, we're destroying humanity as well. People can go on and spout crap like God will smite you and stuff, but in the end, whether there's a God or not, we're on our own. Maybe it IS the Apocalypse, or maybe it's, as I just said, humanity destroying itself like we were destined to do in the first place. From the beginning we're living for the end, right? So maybe that's all humanity's been doing. Living for the end.

Besides the Pills we take to try and keep us healthier and maybe some junk food, do you think That stuff didnt exist in the medievil days? or even worse back then?

So better off.. Cant say whether we are or not but times werent exactly better in the past either. most of that stuff has always been around. War's, disease, crime, famine, poverty... when has that stuff not existed?

There's always been virulent plagues, violent crime, famine, poverty, environmental ruin (the Greeks wrecked their once green and lush landscape thousands of years ago by over-planting olives)....

It's just the human condition. We're a very self-destructive species.

Humans are the only creatures on earth to have defied nature to such a rather remarkable extent. Umm, we sure as hell are better off than in the Dark Ages, that's something to be optimistic about.
