Every one tells how hiv spreads.but i want to know what are the root causes of hiv infection in a person.?

Nobody knows for sure exactly what causes HIV. Researchers certainly know how the virus is made up and how it attacks the body - but where it actually came from is a medical mystery.

That鈥檚 not to say there haven鈥檛 been many theories. HIV has sparked controversy and heated debate worldwide. Can we point the finger at monkeys, the polio vaccine or even a genetically engineered virus used by the CIA? Who knows?

Some of the theories are very plausible. The majority of the medical profession believes the virus was a direct descendent of the simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV). Simian means monkey.
So just how was the virus spread to humans? There is some suggestion that poachers may have killed the infected chimps and then eaten them or even had sex with them.

Another extremely controversial theory is that HIV was spread via the polio vaccine. This theory has been rubbished by some scientists who doubt whether HIV could be transmitted via a vaccine which is taken orally.

At the end of the day, it鈥檚 all speculation. Nobody really knows how and why the virus entered our society. Doctors have known about it since 1981 when people with symptoms first started emerging but it鈥檚 likely that it was around for at least 20 years before that.

The great tragedy is that this failure to determine the root cause of HIV is a seemingly insurmountable obstacle to finding either a cure or a vaccine

HIV infection refers to a person that has Human immunodeficiency virus 1. This virus mutated from the very similar viruses found in apes and monkeys (simian immunodeficiency virus) in Africa possibly as long ago as the 1920's. The first people who got it probably were butchering monkey meat (which is eaten commonly in several African countries) and got infected with the virus through a cut. This virus then slowly changed in humans to become more virulent and deadly. Interestingly, it changed differently in different areas. In areas where people are highly promiscuous, and more deadly virus evolved, In areas of Africa where people are monogamous (or as monogamous as people can ever be) it evolved into a disease that is much less deadly. This is because it is spread as you know from person to person through infected bodily fluids. When chances for transmission are lower, the virus that survives tends to be one that allows its victim to live longer.

3 things have to all be there for someone to be infected by HIV,

1/ You can only get it from a HIV or AIDS positive person
2/ white blood cells (from blood or semen) have to come from their body
3/ That fluid has to enter your blood stream.

2 out of 3 is not enough to be infected

That can be from:-
- sexual intercourse (especially if other STDs are present)
- sharing instruments that have blood (syringe, poorly cleaned barber or dentist equipment)
- at birth if the mother's blood gets into the eye of the baby (bleeding is common)

CLEANING BLOOD STAINED THINGS TO KILL VIRUS:
- Hot water
- Bleach
- Alcohol (medical strength, not beer)

PREVENTION MYTHS:
- Wear a Condom: Condoms are designed to catch sperm, not HIV virus which can get through condoms

the root cause of hiv in a person is just exposure to bodily fluids which include blood, sperm, vaginal secretions, anal secretions etc from an infected hiv person.
