Can I get an infection such as HIV/AIDS ( I got a scratch from an injection in sea )? |
Hi, I just got a 6 cm long and cca 0.5 cm deep scratch from sea from a injection. Do you think that i can be infected by HIV? I also cleaned my foot right after i realized that it happened. And how can i check if I am OK? Thanks for any help. I also came to nurse and she disinfected the wound. It's absolutely possible, but the person who used the needle would have to have had HIV or AIDS first. And then it would have to have stayed on the needle and not be washed off by the sea. I would say your chances are very slim, probably around 1/1000 that you have been infected. Go to a doctor and get a blood test. This is the only way to be sure. Highly unlikely if you were in the sea, the salt water would sterilize the needle, and by the time you stood on it, the germs would be dead Report Abuse Hey |
