ON THE VERGE OF A BREAKDOWN. Herpes question!!!?

I was tested for herpes in August 2007, it was a blood test. I got my IGG results back for both HSV 1 & 2. They were both negative. I've only had sex once in my entire life. That was October of 2006, and after that I got deathly afraid of having HIV, and I was proven wrong(thank God). It was almost 10 months since my "exposure" when I got tested for the herpes, so I'm probably fine. But, I'm starting to think I'm a hypochondriac, I start crying and thinking horrible thoughts about just ending my life. I'm sure I feel this way because I won't and can't forgive myself for making a mistake and having sex. Can someone please tell me, if I can rely on this test. I still have itching down there, but I kinda think it's a yeast infection. But, I've never had anything strange looking in or on my vagina. I'm just scared, and I need a little comfort.

I would think that you are fine and that you are mentally causing the problems that you are having. The only question that I have is "how long after you had sex for the first time did you go and get the herpes test?" Herpes can take up to 3-4 weeks to develop. I am not saying this to make you panic or doubt yourself, just to make sure. If you do the math, and everything is ok, stop kicking yourself in the *** for making a mistake. You can get tested for yeast infection.

If you have been tested and that came back negative, and you have had no signs or symptoms you have nothing to worry about. If it was 10 months after exposure that you got tested it would have showed up if it was present. You might want to talk to a counsellor though. It really sounds like you would benefit from talking to someone about your worries and concerns. You are obsessing about this and it is causing you emotional pain.

For the possible yeast infection you could go to the health food store and get some acidophilus pills (friendly bacteria) no prescription required, not too much money. Just take a few when you feel like you might have a yeast infection and they generally clear it up by the next day.

Sounds like you are fine medically. Those tests are reliable and you haven't had any symptoms. Itching is more a sign of yeast or BV, which aren't sexually transmitted.
Why do you feel so bad about having sex? Was it a bad experience? It sounds to me like you may be experiencing depression (guilty, crying, suicidal thoughts). Please go see a counselor or doctor immediately to talk about your feelings and fears. You shouldn't have to go through the rest of your life feeling bad about one incident.

you are going to be ok, you have taken all the precautions you need to and now you can work on avoiding those kinds of mistakes in the future, be careful, take care of yourself and go to the gyno on a regular basis, you can also try to make a follow up appointment so that he can check those symptoms of yeast infection you are reporting, other than that try to move on, don't be scared, be safe.

You have been tested so relax. The itching can just be you bringing it on by worrying so much about it. You have to forgive yourself for having sex...you are human and we all make mistakes. If you had herpes you would have had lots of blister like things on your vagina and been very uncomfortable so since that never happened, and your test is negative you don't have it.

doctors are very careful with this kind of thing. if you have no symptoms then dont worry about it. and if theres itching and its constant it could be pubic lice. whcih doesnt have to be transmitted sexually but from sharing clothes or sitting on someones couch who had it etc. but if its not constant then its normal..stop worrying.

Maybe you should go see a therapist about your anxiety...talking to someone might help you cope with your feelings.
