RE: acinetobacter-baumanii?

acinetobacter-baumanii just diagnosed as a heavy growth in the blood stream for family member. sometimes, this is called the Iraq infection. Soldiers coming home from Iraq caught this, and the medics didn't know what it was in time.........so, many were not isolated until they had been cleared of having this. Does anyone know anything about this.......in reference to someone who is HIV positive?

thank you for that link! My son works in a clinic, as a physicians assistant!

I add a link to an abstract from the International Journal of Experimental and Clinical Chemotherapy Vol: 47, No.1, 2001

I have never heard of this but if it was diagnoised by a doctor, the doctor should have given all these details to you. if he/she did not you really should call them

I don't have an answer for you, but I started looking up some info on this and I found this interesting and might answer your question.
