Is it normal to feel a little sick after getting a tattoo?

I just got my second tattoo yesterday. It's pretty big. Took a lot of work. However, I woke up this morning (and before going to sleep), I felt kind of nauseous. The same thing happened after I got my first tattoo. Are some people just like that? I'm not worried that it's an infection, everything was super sterile. He made me read the expiration dates off of the needle packaging, he showed me how he sterilizes everything, and washed it down one more time before giving me my tattoo.. Oh, and he obviously wore gloves. That, and contrary to popular belife, no one has ever gotten HIV or Hepatits C from a tattoo (don't believe me? Check out the CDCs website. They said it them selves).

So my question is, do some people just react this was to tattoos naturally?

The same happens to many people after getting tattoos, piercings etc...
I think its some form of shock. The bodys way of dealing with the "trauma". Its completely normal.

No you will find ity was nerve. They can do a lot when you get nerveous.

Sometimes if you're fighting something off but don't realize it, and then get a tattoo, your immune system is lowered by the trauma and you get full-blown sick. This happened to me: I got shingles 3 days after getting my first tattoo (and for those who don't know about shingles, it's a non-contagious flare-up of the dormant chicken pox virus, and is seen primarily in people with suppressed immune systems.) So it could be an illness you were fighting off, or it could simply be your body's fatigue/stress reaction, set off by the tattoo.

Yes, it is quite natural.

thats probably how your body handles it. from getting nervous and then the pain and then the heat of the tattoo thats probably how your body reacted. as long as there is nothing abnormal with the tattoo you should be fine!

It's your body and the way it responds to the endorphines that were released when you were getting tattoed.

An endorphin rush coming down can give you flu-like symptoms including nausea, fatigue and weakness.

It's like a massive sugar crash only more powerful.

i think everyone feels a little sick after getting a tattoo or a piercing. Mainly because your body has gone through an increased tolerance of pain, and the body ends up going into shock. Every piercing i've gotten i've felt nauseous, one time when i got my tongue pierced, i threw up! lol.

so, yeah, it's normal, no need to worry

Its possible since your skin soaked up so much ink at once.

yes, its probably just left over from your nerves
