Born Again Christians Please: Condoms?

As a Born Again Christian I would like to share my own experience. Recently I returned from a solo holiday in Thailand and was shocked to find I had genital warts. Its just that one day I had lent a pair of my underpants to another man. He had an accident in his due to the strong food. Then I forgot to wash the pants. The genital wart virus must have sat on the pants and then infected me.

My wife and I went to the doctor who asked if I had sex with any bar girls. You can imagine my disgust at this slur on my reputation. The doctor said this form of infection was impossible, in front of my wife. He also told me to wear condoms.

But if the church says that condoms have holes in them, then surely infection by underpants is possible.

Should we listen to science or the church of God?

As a muslim I would make love to your wife and be greatful to your creator for giving you both such great gifts to enjoy.

You can get checked if you have contaminated any STD through infected pants...lol i think thats is possible. Oh and dont lend pants again.

christians dont go for trojan condoms. they use crusader condoms. ^^

First of all: too much information.

Secondly, condoms are 99% effective against pregnancy and STDs. So I guess there's a chance you could get infected, but it's small.

I think I'll listen to science instead of the church on this one.

What? Troll. Anyway, everyone knows that condoms CAN still allow you to get disease, duh. But sure, it's a lot safer than not using one if you're going to do the thing anyway. Of course the church isn't going to promote the use of condoms when they want you to abstain until marriage... does that not make sense? c'mon man!

why would you lend someone your underwear then "forget" to wash them before wearing them yourself? Better yet, just don't "lend" your underwear to anyone-JUST GIVE THEM. Anyway, I think this whole question is bull crap.

I would go with science. Why on earth would you let someone borrow a pair of underwear? If I did something like this, I sure wouldn't want them back!

Science is only attempting to understand gods creation and have done much research so I would say science

I female maybe picks up things sitting on infected seats but science did find they can't become pregnant like that as many tried to say a century ago.

This is why I am Christian Non Denominational because some high clergymen choose to put their own thoughts into the word. Study the bible not over zealous men. Science only discovers what God has done. Condoms can have holes and nothing is 100% except abstinence.

The doctor is right. STI (Sexually Transmitted Infections) can only remain viable (infectious) for a number of hours outside the body. 4 hours with HIV, slightly longer with Genital Warts. But if you had not warn them shortly after (within hours) your friend, you really did just get busted in front of your wife. That kind of infection IS impossible.

Listen to the experts. Those cardinals, bishops, priests and nuns have firsthand experience.

Science and God are not mutually exclusive. Do you think that science just "popped up" out of nowhere? God created science and allows our understanding of it.

I find this post suspicious since as far as I understand it, one cannot get genital herpes of any kind unless one has sex with another who is infected. So, either you got this infection from your wife, who had to get it from someone else who was infected or you had to have had sex with some of the "natives," though you claim to have not. Or, this is a bogus question meant to somehow stymee believers, which it did not.

As for condoms, the Catholic Church states that one should not use a condom as birth control or in preventing the natural conception of a baby. Anything that interferes with that process during sex is prohibited. You would not be using the condom for such a purpose; you would be using it to stop the spread of disease to your wife. I doubt the Church, or any Christian Church, would have a problem with that.

Finally, you need to make your own decision, using the Church's teachings as your guide.

Before you read on, know this, only people like Mosi, Jessus and Mohamut have direct connections with the God. All others mortals are obligate to commiting mistakes in the name of sinners.

If you didnt contract the STD through that may be from a toilet sit? May be before you have been infected before going over sea?
Now firstly in my knowledge the church didnt say condom is no good BECAUSE it doesnt help prevent STD, where did you get that from? The church just told the world that condom is bad without giving much reasoning. (In my understanding, they told the world so in order to prevent immoral sexual act between us for condoms as excusses)
Secondly what make you think any religious practioners is more knowledgable than scientists over issue about whether STD pathogens can past through condoms? Most likely they are just making mistake like they were for the false knowledge that the earth was flat, the earth is the center of the universe and the sun circles around earth. etc etc
Finally the church faile to discover the law of the universe what all of it is the nothing but creation of the God, because they are arrogant and they are sinners too but with job titles as Cardinals, bishops, priests and nuns.

HIV is a somewhat big retrovirus, and most condoms can prevent it from entering. Also not all virus are the same size, and since very few are retrovirus (that form the smallest virus of the bunch), the ones that cause your twart are even more unlikely to cross the membrane to infect you. The things with the virus, is that they don`t last a long time when in contact with the air, so very strict climatic conditions are needed to prevent them from decaying, it is why your doctor may believe it would be almost impossible for you to contract such virus, but knowing Thailand climates, I am not sure that such virus could decay so fast...
