Should I go to the Dentist or the Doctor? |
I was eating Alaskan King Crab a little over a week ago. I used my teeth to bite the shell and in doing so, I sliced my lower gum right under the tooth. I have very good dental hygeine. The gum is swollen where I cut it, and it is pussing and bleeding. It is very sore. I have HIV so infections need to be taken care of quickly. Should I go to the Dentist or the Doctor? You should probably go to the doctor. The doctor (especially the doctor who manages your HIV) would be more familiar with which infections are more common in the setting of HIV. I hope you feel better soon. |
