I think I have HIV. I have been very tired lately, bad diarrhea, swollen glands, and recurring yeast infectio

recurring yeast infections. Im very scared to get tested. should i

Doesn't mean u have HIV but you should get tested.

You jumped straight to HIV with that?

Could be Influenza and or Bad Water!!

Wow....

Get tested ya dolt.

of course get tested... do not wait until it is too late.

Take someone you trust with you and get tested. Most clinics have a ten minute test now.

There are a lot of other things it could be, but if it is HIV you've got to get past the fear and into living your life again. There are many great resources and support groups for people living with HIV, so you can take control of your health- but only if you get tested. Trust me, it's better to know.

Best wishes.

lots of things could cause those symptoms
Think about the reasons that cause it . If you have a legit concern, see a doctor or center. You could have some minor infection that could be cured with some antibiotics.

Yes, get tested. You may not have HIV. Regardless, you are suffering and need medical care.

I will pray that you are HIV negative and feel better soon.

Dear Asker!

The only way to know if you are infected is to be tested for HIV infection. You cannot rely on symptoms to know whether or not you are infected. Many people who are infected with HIV do not have any symptoms at all for 10 years or more.

The following may be warning signs of advanced HIV infection:

rapid weight loss
dry cough
recurring fever or profuse night sweats
profound and unexplained fatigue
swollen lymph glands in the armpits, groin, or neck
diarrhea that lasts for more than a week
white spots or unusual blemishes on the tongue, in the mouth, or in the throat
pneumonia
red, brown, pink, or purplish blotches on or under the skin or inside the mouth, nose, or eyelids
memory loss, depression, and other neurological disorders

However, no one should assume they are infected if they have any of these symptoms. Each of these symptoms can be related to other illnesses. Again, the only way to determine whether you are infected is to be tested for HIV infection.

For information on where to find an HIV testing site, visit the National HIV Testing Resources Web site at http://www.hivtest.org
or call CDC-INFO 24 Hours/Day at1-800-CDC-INFO (232-4636), 1-888-232-6348 (TTY)

Hope that may help you!
Good luck!

Think positive first !
Do you have any of the risk factor :
1. Unsafe sex (esp with multiple partner, or with partner wich is drug user)
2. Parenteral (using shared unsterilized syringe needle) drug user
3. Contamination of blood or body fluid (usually happen to healthcare worker)

how long the symptom exist, a month, a year or just a week.
Fatigue could have many possibility, anemia, distress, and inadequate nutrition are just several option. Diarrhea could be caused by bacteria or viral or cow milk or food allergy. Recurring yeast infection can happen when you use inhaled steroid (for asthma traeatment), or have a bad hygiene.

If you have one of the following risk, then you should consider checking it, have an ELISA test which is simple. If you have positive result then you must have a confirmatory test.

If you dont have the risk factor, then it is unusual if you get HIV
for more information, you can get from here :

Initially, to arrive at a diagnosis of HIV related illness maybe somewhat premature but only you know what lifestyle choices you have taken and indeed any apparent risks. However, I suggest that you undergo a test as soon as possible and get some professional medical advice as a matter of urgency.

HIV medicine and treatments have advanced immensely over the past ten years or so, and it is better to know than to be ignorant even if the test and result maybe somewhat scary.

I think you should try and look at things a little more rationally and remember that many illnesses present with the symptoms you have mentioned above. If you have engaged in some risky activities (unsafe sex, IV drug use) then you need to be hasty. In some cases, within the first few weeks of this activitiy treatment can be given (Post Exposure Prophylaxis) although the treatment is pretty intensive and medical practitioners cannot guarantee such treatment will work.

So seek medical advice now. The best of luck.

First of all, you are not a 'dolt' to think that it may be symptomatic HIV disease. Fatigue, diarrhea, swollen lymph nodes, and recurring yeast infections are signs of HIV disease.

I would suggest that you speak to your healthcare practitioner about your symptoms and I strongly suggest you get an HIV test to rule that out. Take a deep breath, bring a friend, and work through the fear -- testing is the ONLY way to know for sure.

But to be sure, there are other possibilities which could explain most of your symptoms. See your physician!
