Would you consider being in an intimate relationship with someone HIV+? Explain why, please.?

With the advances in medicine over the past 20 years, this has become a managable chronic illness in a lot of cases, and condom use cuts the rate of infection significantly. So if you met the person that you were sure is the right person for you, then they told you they were infected, would you live with it or move on?

gailforce_wind- I feel that to be responsible and mature would be to reveal HIV status. Do you think the respectful thing to do is to let a prospective partner decide for themselves?

No. I would not gamble with my life. I would move on and I would hope anyone with HIV would be mature and responsible enough NOT to be considering relationships with people who are not infected.

If the couple is already in a relationship, things become more complicated. Specifically, was the infect do to cheating or was it always there, and do you leave or stay.

mmmm that would be hot to share that

i dont think i would because that would turn me off anyways so i wouldnt want to be with them. i would be so freaked out that my kids were gonna get i was my kids bf/gf their kids, etc.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, just because she has HIV doesn't mean you will get it. They need you in their lives. Just be careful that's all. Love can over come everything

no i wouldnt cuz that is taken a chance with my life and i am not going to take a chance with my life, i love my life to the fullest, and im not going home till the good Lord calls me, feel me?

If you don't live your life on the edge-you are taking up too much space in this world. For love, I"ll risk anything.
PERIOD.

Don't gamble with your life. Until they find a cure, I would NEVER sleep with them.

I would tread lightly on this issue...if you find someone to truly love and make a life long commitment, that's hard enough...never mind the risk of sharing a possibly life threatening disease. But if you can, and your partner accepts the challenges and risks, and you educate and protect yourself...why not.

I don't think I could have an intimate relationship with someone who was HIV+ No matter how careful you were, you would be playing with fire and if you got burned you will die.

EVEN WITH MODERN TECHNOLOGY, IT IS NOT 100%. #1 MUST-'GO TO THE CLINIC', BEFORE BEING SEXUALLY INTIMATE WITH ANYONE. I LOVE MYSELF TOO MUCH, TO SUBJECT MYSELF WITH THE WHAT IFS. THE ANSWER IS ABSOLUTELY NO. BUT, NO HARM WITH BEING PLATONIC FRIENDS.

If you are sure this is the right person that you want to spend you life with, then go for it. Like you said there is so much advances in medicine technology out there today. Dont let a good thing slip away.Use precautions Good Luck!

people can still have good strong relationships....of course taking the safe steps with sexual intercourse...are you willing to contract hiv? theres always that chance.what about if it turns to aids? losing the person or dying yourself.i guess if i felt strongly enough and both of us were positive of the other then i would proceed with the relationship.if children were wanted adoption would be my choice. if watching someone i love die slowly was the situation i knew i was putting myself in then i did that.i did it for me and i did it for the other person and i did it for love and i would be there until the very end...would that other person? theres a chance that if hiv was contracted on your part, that you would be infected with aids before them and die before them....would they be there for you? theres also the possibility that aids never arises and you could live a "NORMAL" life together...taking your medications for whatever ails you...holding hands while sitting in your rocking chairs...together..ONLY you can really answer this question, it's your life.thers also the chance that you die in a car accident tomorrow.
