Question about Aids infection(knife)?!!?

If someone(number1) infected with the HIV virus(let's say its been 4 years since he got the virus) cuts himself with a knife, and then after 5 hours cut someone else with the same knife(number2-someone who does not have AIDS), will number 2 be infected with the virus too??

what if number 1 cuts someone with that knife after 2 days?? or 1 week??!! will number 2 be infected?

If the blood on the knife (after 5 hours) was dry, the risk of getting HIV is fairly low. For a health care worker who is exposed to HIV-infected blood there is 0.3 percent chance of becoming infected; risks may be higher if there is a larger quantity of blood, or if there is direct entry of a contaminated needle into an artery or vein, or a deep injury.

If you think you have been exposed to HIV, talk to your health care provider or the public health department, and get tested.

Also, ask your health care provider about taking ARVs.

Even though your chances of getting infected may be fairly low, it makes more sense to ask a doctor their opinion instead of avoiding it altogether. A dr. can offer giving you anti-HIV meds just to be safe, and the rate of transmission is drastically reduced. But you need to go to a dr. asap after the incident occurs...but even if it has been a while since the incident occured, its better to go to a dr. now then never going at all.

good luck, and stay optimistic

Theorectically yes. Transmission from sharps (like needles, knives, etc) is possible.

Now, possible is not "will be infected". If you suspect that you have been exposed to the HIV virus, talk to your doctor about the exposure and if s/he feels the risk is justified you can go through a testing regime. This happens all the time with doctors and nurses.

The viruse just need to reach to blood, to make the person sick.

Now if the blood be infected and some one else get it or get hurt and viruse reach to his blood , by blood , kinfe or any thing else will get the vrisue.

HIV transfer just from two way: 1- blood 2_ sex

yes because you are trans miting to your self the blood infected wll it could to be more sure make a test is simple just a blood test.
