What kind of overnight miracle is supposed to work?

Everybody might know that the African countries i.e the national boundaries are relatively very new. A country that is less than 50 years is not that old. Now, this fact along with the next one will help us try to ponder over how an economic and social miracle is going to happen overnight.

When you look at the African map of countries you will see that several of them have boundaries that seem to have been drawn using a ruler. Were there people living in those area at the time? Well, the answer is yes. These tribes were cut into half, the other half ended up in another country. This is just one example of what happened. Within the created country different tribes, kingdoms or groups of people had to learn to live under the single rule of a leader from a single tribe/ group of people. As easy as it may sound, this is not very easy and we see much older countries still having problems in that area. Many times what was supposed to be party politics became organised along tribal lines according to the tribes of the candidates. There was no stopping the conflicts and sometimes they were not entirely internal conflicts. In such situations where is the miracle of stability and economic prosperity supposed to come from?

Anybody who claims to know anything about the world market knows that you have to be able to trade what you have 鈥?and have the say to sell it at a reasonable price 鈥?in order to get the money you need to invest in other sectors. And if the little income you get out of trade is invested in fighting wars and buying arms aren鈥檛 you now going to be in desperate need of financial assistance or aid as many prefer to call it? Does it get better when the conditions of this aid are quite strict and unattainable? How positive is the situation if there鈥檚 no hope of you ever being able to pay off your national debt given the status quo but yet you have to keep on borrowing? We鈥檙e glad that the debt burden has to a great extent been relieved.

Today, new problems have arrived on the scene. The AIDS problem is not the least one. Quite a few countries have managed to bring the rate of infection down but unfortunately the damage has been done. Many people including myself are now taking care of dead relatives鈥?(in my case my late second cousin鈥檚 children) offspring. Luckily Uganda is one of those countries that have managed to bring down the rate of HIV infection but the numbers of orphaned children are not to be ignored. Does this help the situation?

Like it鈥檚 been said before, Africa indeed does have its own weaknesses but to think that all of them are entirely of its own making is not too right. Given the examples above how can we expect an overnight miracle from that continent? Isn鈥檛 that expecting too much from mere human beings just as ourselves? How is one supposed to stand up straight under that weight? It鈥檚 beyond my understanding. What do you think?

Thanks Thunderscream but I really have to add that for most countries it is not about lack of education regarding farming/ food production. For many years now we have been practicing what today might be termed as organic farming. The methods we have been using are crop rotation and platnig nitrogen fxing plants along with others. The slash and burn method can also be good prvovided it is done on a smaller scale like it used to. The problem here in most countries is not a shortage of food for consumption or exportation. There's been a limitation to how much one country can export which was not good for low price exports (because you could earn more money by exporting more of a low price product. There are countries though - especially the ones situated on the fringes of the Sahara - that could use other/newer methods of farming in order to produce more food especially for it's people.

I think we as the World must come together and help our brethren find their way in these dark times, because even if you don't want to help , you need to think global, what happens to our brothers and sisters in Africa will eventually happen here , our live are linked together .

agree
alot of the African countries problems are indeed economic problems that comes from one alot are landlocked countries that if any trade goes out they have to pay another country to ship it the solution i think and also solves the tribal problems is to re draw alot of the borders combine some countries with others and allow these tribe leaders to be elected as nation leaders but the said part about Africa is the lack of education in social and farming/food production so the most of the time Warlords and Tyrants are elected
My solution is that these countries learn to stand up for themselves and the rest of the worlds nations will help with the rest of the problems i think
EDIT
I stand corrected thank you but do you still see what im talking about the redrawing of borders for the countries that are landlocked?

If Africa is the ONLY thing you can talk about, how about going over there and help
