Please solve this contradiction?

1. Why is it advised not to share tooth brush with an Hiv positive person as we know that the virus does not remain alive once it is outside the body?

2. Suppose an Hiv positive person is doing masturbation in a toilet. He touches the tap of water tube with fingers wet with infected semen. He washes his hands but leaves the tap unwashed as he thinks that the next person who is going to touch the tap can not notice or care about it. The next person may have a slight breaching in his mouth while brushing teeth or Pyria(Bleeding Gums).
Does this situation carry any possibility of Hiv infection?

Please answer my question and explain the grounds of your answers.
I am eagerly looking forward to your answers.
Thank you!

IN the first case you all claim that there is no need to worry as the virus does not remain alive for a long time while in the letter case you all say that there is a need to worry as the virus may remain alive. Why this contradiction?

First off hiv needs blood. Just simply touching something doesn't transfer the disease, they has to be broken skin and blood transfer, and then the one receiving has to have broken skin and receive the transfer on that area. The toothbrush thing I believe was referring to people (eeewwww) that would brush their teeth and then had the brush, right then to their partner or someone else.
If you get infected body fluids on your person, in a faily short period of time, last time I heard it lived around 30 second, touched a cut or a orface then ya, you could, maybe get it, but that's alot of if's and maybe's. If the disease spread that easily, we would all have it by now. The thing I don't understand is what about mosquitoes? They have the infected material, in their bodies, and move to the next person? If I was to worry about something, that would be it.

Logically most people would say it didn't matter, you couldn't get it from either cause it doesn't stay alive long enough but I bet none of them would be willing to try to get near either one.

Well first off you wouldn't want to share a toothbrush with anyone with aids because the bristles can make scratches and tears on the gums and/or they might have bleeding gums, the residue might stay on the wet brush and the next person if they had an open wound or anything in the mouth could be infected.

It's not just through blood, it's spread through body fluids, that can include semen, breast milk, blood. Saliva is questionable.

Virus's can live outside the body on wet or hard surfaces for a time frame as well. They generally don't live very long on dry things such as paper. Even a cold can live on a doorknob for awhile. If a body fluid was on a hard surface the next person coming along would be at risk unless it was a very long time that had passed.

Also, if someone has aids, if they had an aids related infection or pneumonia, they could spread it through body fluids such as mucus.

There are alot of differences in opinion on the saliva and mucus issue but it is spread via body fluids, so anyone around an aids victim should wear gloves and be very cautious in handling anything that has fluids on it. Just commonly touching an aids person wouldn't spread it unless you both had open oozing sores or scratches. There is contradiction because alot of factors come into play, like each persons immune system, there might be some who could be in a room with sick people and not get sick, yet others just touching an object and touching eyes or nose could get sick, it depends on each individual when infecting with virus.

HIV can infect anyone who practices risky behaviors such as

Sharing drug needles or syringes
Having sexual contact, including oral, with an infected person without using a condom
Having sexual contact with someone whose HIV status is unknown
Infected blood

HIV also is spread through contact with infected blood..Although researchers have found HIV in the saliva of infected people, there is no evidence that the virus is spread by contact with saliva. Laboratory studies reveal that saliva has natural properties that limit the power of HIV to infect, and the amount of virus in saliva appears to be very low. Research studies of people infected with HIV have found no evidence that the virus is spread to others through saliva by kissing. The lining of the mouth, however, can be infected by HIV, and instances of HIV transmission through oral intercourse have been reported.

Scientists have found no evidence that HIV is spread through sweat, tears, urine, or feces.

Studies of families of HIV-infected people have shown clearly that HIV is not spread through casual contact such as the sharing of food utensils, towels and bedding, swimming pools, telephones, or toilet seats.but if you share a tooth brush and gums are bleeding you can get the virus.

I'm pretty sure HIV can stay alive outside the body for 12 hours so both situations are valid.

1. If you use the same brush withing 12hrs, you run the risk of getting HIV

2. If the next person touches the contaminated tap and gets it in their mouth, they can also catch the disease.

In both cases ther is a significant risk of infection, but it is also possible there isn't enough of the virus in the bit that makes it into the second person. Either way, better to be safe than sorry.
