HIV cure, available yet?

Is there a cure for HIV yet?
I heard that theres medicine or injection for use within 36 hours of infection, that helps people against HIV, is this true?
Currently in my country, this medicine is only given out to the army or police who deals with drug dealers (in case they get stabbed with the needles)

Thank you

There is no know cure for this disease at this time and I really don't think there ever will be.
HIV(aids) is a very complex disease that is always changing in the body. Just when scientist think they figured out something the disease changes on them. I am not sure about the injection to keep from getting HIV if stuck with a needle but I don't believe that there will ever be a cure for this disease. Even if a cure is found I really don't see the government letting it go because just like Cancer( which I am sure they do have a cure for ) they are making to much money off of people who receive treatment for this.

the best cure for aids is death Report It

There is no cure.
There are drugs that alleviate the symptoms.
Diet are also touted to help.

South Africa's Minister of Health advocates that garlic and beetroot are beneficial.
South Africa's ex deputy president (and ANC deputy president) thinks that showering after sex also help.

I think it is not true.Bcoz hiv is a virus and once it affect our body,no way to remove it.Till today ,I think there is no drugs to fight against viruses.(common cold is an example)..

Yes there is.

speaking from a close friends experience i know that there is no cure for hiv...there are however, many drugs which can prevent the hiv virus turning into AIDS. These drugs are known as antiretriviral treatment and a combination of one or many drugs may be used to help. There is no treatment available for the AIDS virus however, and hiv can turn into aids if the person contracts many colds, pneumonia or develops cancer for example. I hope this has been of help to you.

There is no cure yet, for people who are consistently seropositive for HIV, ie who produce antibodies against HIV after initial infection (that's how you know somebody is infected).

This is interesting though. Maybe giving the antiviral before the seropositive state is reached is prophilactic, ie protects people against initial infection. Has anyone seen actual statistics on this ?
