Altough, I personally do NOT agree with the gay lifestyle, etc, and I would personally NOT befriend a gay person. I do have to say that statement is 100% wrong. The most common mode of HIV transfer/infection is via man-women intercourse. i cant relate to a gay person. I rather have a girl. I feel they are equal in what they can provide emotionally. Why ask the question if you already have your answer? No. And this is a proven fact:

EDIT:: You can't put someones sexuality aside and befriend their personality? Your entitled to what ever you want, it doesn't make it the fair thing to do. There are many ways to get infected with HIV.
What would you do if you met a great person, became friends with them and then found out they were gay? Would you drop them as a friend because of that even though you liked them prior to knowing they were gay? Why do you keep asking silly questions to which you already know the answer to?

First off why wouldnt you befriend a gay person??? Just because someone is gay mate doesnt mean they are from an alien planet... We are born the way we are and we cannot help it.. I personally couldnt befriend certain religions in life because i disagree with their values and beliefs but i respect them as its their choice to follow that walk of life.. I guess that could be your method..
Hiv is higher in the hetrosexual community than gay community due to lack of education within it.. I would if i was you maybe befriend a gay man as a friend and just say I am an open minded accepting kinda person who is straight and oly looking for friends...
