Do You Feel Knowledgeable About HIV?

What do you know about HIV prevention, infection and stigmatization?

PREVENTION
use condoms, don't share needles, when coming into contact with possibly infected person's bodily fluids use gloves, don't share tooth brushes with infected person.
Long and short, aviod blood and sperm/sexual secretions. Saliva and sweet rarely carry the virus.

INFECTION
Once a person is infected, the virus may lay dormant for months or not at all. The virus attacks the immune system making the person vulnerable to infection. The virus attacks the T cells in the body. Once the T cell count drops below a certain low number the person officially has AIDS (even if the T cell count increases again)

STIGMATIZATION
People are very ignorant when it comes to who has HIV, who gets HIV, and how it's spread. People are afraid to touch people they know have it. Also, people automoatically think that people are having unsafe sex or shooting up drug if they have it. It does happen with blood transfusions or accidents at hospitals. People with HIV are not the monsters that society makes them out to be.

do i Feel Knowledgeable About HIV? yes indeedy

I know enough to not have it and avoid it.

I know al about HIV prevention, infection and I am a pro at the stigmatization.

First I will tell you a little about what it is like to have HIV. When people see you they see a death sentence and they dint understand that we have children and live life like anyone else YES the children are negative. My little girl is 18 months and is negative. We also work and go to school. In other words like we say we have HIV but dint live it. For more information here is a link to my site were you will see all you need to know about prevention as well as infection and most important you will see that we fight the stigmatization.
