About HIV and AIDS?

Why each action eliminates or reduces the risk of HIV infection?

1) Be monogamous with a person free from HIV infection.

2)Do not share needles, syringes, drug injection equipment, or any other items that may put a person in contact with blood

3)Avoiding drinking alcohol and talking illegal drugs.

Bein monagamous lowers that risk bcause you are not havin sex with someone who has tha disease. Not to share needles reduces your chance of tha disease cause blood is not bein transfered. The third one is a lil off. You can drink as much liquor as you want and not get the disease.

All 3 do, the first two are obvious actions, the third one, when you drink and take drugs you don't have good judgment.

2 is the best way. in my opinion.

even being monogamous with a person puts you at risk of obtaining hiv. people cheat, its a fact of life. and no matter how monogamous you are, you could always still catch the wrong one.

protect youself, use condoms, do not share needles and avoid blood to blood contact with anyone.

Hi,

HIV is spread by unprotected penetrative sexual contact with an infected person. It can also be acquired when infected blood enters the persons鈥?blood by sharing needles or the transfusion of infected blood and organ transplants. Infection can also be transmitted from an infected mother to her child in the uterus, during delivery or while breastfeeding.

The virus is also found in smaller amounts in tears, saliva, brain, spinal fluid, urine, and faeces although contact with these bodily fluids is not likely to transmit the virus. Casual contact such as by shaking hands, social kisses, touching an infected person, touching something that the person has handled, using public toilets or telephones, or using swimming pools does NOT spread HIV. The available information also bears out that HIV is not spread by mosquito or other insect bites.
