I saw on the news that MRSA Staph Infection will take more lives then HIV in the coming years?

How could someone make such a bold speculation without facts? I have attached a article I've found about the subject. But since the Doctor that made that claim sait it on TV. I couldn't find a link to what he said.

Actually, it is pretty certain that the doctor you heard talking is correct.

There are facts. The eventual death toll is NOT certain, but the increase is, note articles below.

I agree with you. MRSA is a growing problem that started in the hospitals and has no natural cure. Nothing can really stop it except *massive* doses of toxic antibiotics that if not handled correctly can actually make the problem worse.
What's helping this along is that heath care Workers are Carriers. Typhoid Marys so-to-speak. The disease is carried from person to person very benignly until it settles and just lurks. It chooses when to act up.
It will be one hellova scourge when it decides to come of age.
Personally I was waiting for Ebola to go airbourne, disease-monger that I am and we *are* overdue as a species for a pandemic..... MRSA I think will beat us up badly unless the CDC and other labs are ready for it. God help us if they're not.

I think that is really scarely because it happens so quickly that before anyone catches onto whats really happening its too late.

In fact, earlier this summer the man who lives two houses down the road from me was in Europe somewhere for a week working and got a small scratch. Two days later he was home and told his wife one morning he didn't feel good so she took him to the Emergency Room and before the sun set that day he died from MRSA. Left a wife and two boys and two dogs behind. That was really sad because its such a wonderful family. It ripped my heart out.

The speculation is based upon facts. I saw the article last night as well. It's pretty disturbing.

This is a particularly scary topic for health care workers. You can use barriers and precautions when dealing with a known MRSA infection, but it often happens so quickly you don't know that's what you're dealing with until after the person is gone.
