At early stages of HIV infection are there actions that can be taken to change the status to negative. How?

i have had cases where someone changed from positive to negative HIV status but what happens?

Once a person is infected with HIV, they are infected for life (at least as of right now). There is no way for someone to revert from being HIV+ to being HIV-.

The tests commonly used to detect HIV is the HIV Antibody Test. It doesn't look for the presence of the actual virus, it looks for your body's response to the presence of the virus (antibodies).

When any HIV+ mom gives birth to a child there is about a 25-30% chance that the child will contract HIV from the mother (usually during delivery). It is uncommon for the virus to infect the fetus while the fetus is growing inside the woman --- the placental barrier is good at keeping HIV out. However, the mother's antibodies to HIV will pass easily into the placenta and into the fetus' blood supply. So any child born to an HIV+ mom (regardless of they are actually infected with the virus) will have his/her mother's antibodies to HIV --- and will therefore test positive with the HIV antibody tests. It can take up to 18 months for the baby to lose his/her mom's HIV antibodies. Once this occurs, an HIV antibody test would be negative.
Other tests are done in these cases to find out the true HIV status of newborns born to positive mothers. This might be what you heard.

The concept of post-exposure prophyllaxis (PEP) for HIV exposures is similar to the morning after pill. The morning after pill doesn't stop a pregnancy once it has occured, it helps to prevent conception from occuring. Once a person has HIV they have it for life.

no. that means the first test was a false positive.

nope

I don't think so.

There are drugs that can prevent you from getting infected with HIV if you are treated within the first few days after exposure. (Look here: http://www.thebody.com/content/prev/ art41075.html for more information about that if you're curious.) But once you're actually infected, it is definitely irreversible.

However, false test results do happen. So if someone had a positive test, and then a negative one, it really means that one of the tests was wrong! They should get tested again to make sure.

Theirs must have been a false positive once u have it then ur stuck w/ it

It's a herb of some sort I'm not sure though.

Anyway you could be in a pickle here because sometimes the test has innacurate results

Take the test again. You make have had a false positve. You can't change it if you do have HIV. You can live a full live if you medicate early in early stages. Bless you
