Is there any hope to cure HIV/AIDS?

I am +ve since four years. I hope I will not die of it. Would you please supply information about the vaccination.

I mean I wanted to have a child from my ten years marriage with a girl. We have never made any sex since I new that I am +ve. She is always on the sad that she did not have a child. That worries me. I have heard that mother-child transmission has been dependable but I did not believe it.

All I know is that they hope to cure AIDS and Diabetes in 5 years.

But that's what they said 5 years ago.

There is no vaccination or cure for HIV, the virus that can lead to AIDS. The main reason for that is that the virus mutates (changes) so much. One vaccine or medication may kill one or two strains of the virus, but not all of them.

Recently, there was news regarding the possibility of bone marrow transplant as a cure, but it was only one patient, who needs to be monitored for a long time. A lot more research and testing needs to be done before bone marrow transplant can be considered a valid cure for HIV. Also, there are serious concerns regarding the safety and cost of using bone marrow transplant to treat or cure HIV. It does seem like great news, though, a step in the right direction to finding a cure or improving current treatments.

let me take you through some facts:
HIV virus is the most adaptive living creature, so everything that you can throw at it to inhibit it's multiplication, It adapts, and modifies itself in an astonishing amount of time.
There are millions of strands of HIV virus today due to that, in-fact in a single infected person there can be multiple mutations of HIV. so which one do you develop a cure for? and even if you successfully develop a cure, the virus mutates and adapts itself and becomes immune.
Vaccination is possible, but it is no use getting vaccinates if you already carry the virus. also, if the vaccination has to be successful, entire population has to be vaccinated. We know vaccination gives you a mild form of the decease, thereby protecting you from a full blown infection. but what if the entire population was vaccinated, and the virus mutates, then the entire population would be infected. actually that is what happened to the test monkeys, they showed signs of being immunized for some time before getting infected in a vaccination trial.
scientists have recently said, "We are no closer to finding a cure for HIV then we were 20 years ago", so you can understand hoe bleak the prospects are. but there are a few miracle stories, recently, a bloke showed no signs of HIV in his body when he received a bone marrow transplant, but that was a one off.
You certainly will not die of Hiv, absolutely not. there are medicines available that can help you live, just like a normal person. and the more positive you are towards your life, the better your life will be, it's a fact.
try yoga it will work miracles, i promise. But research a little before you start as to which form suits you the best. there are many forms of it. if i'm not wrong, there are some yoga exercises to boost the immune system, that is exactly what you should be doing.
I've got full faith in modern science, but it is clear that we need some out of the box thinking in order to find a cure...

The reason why AIDS is so tricky is because it mutates so fast. You could create a vaccine for it-but then there would be a new AIDS strand! Scientists are working on preventing people with HIV from getting AIDS. This article is interesting:

http://www.time.com/time/magazine/articl...

A person can have HIV, but it's only a problem for them until the virus actually attacks the T-cells (immune system cells). If people can stop HIV from progressing into AIDS, that would be huge. However, if you don't have AIDS but have HIV, you can still infect someone.

Some people are actually immune to HIV/AIDS, so scientists are studying that to see how they can help people.

http://www.wired.com/medtech/health/news...

This article explains that some people have a mutated gene so the receptors on their cells can't receive HIV.

So on the bright side, we are so much further along with understanding and treating HIV/AIDS than we were thirty years ago, so I have hope.

Cure? No, I wouldn't think so. Viruses can't really be 'cured' except by your own immune system, and HIV is sneaky in that it attacks the very thing that is supposed to keep you safe. But there are plenty of highly effective treatments out there that can keep the disease under control. So is there hope for a cure? Probably not, but you can still live a very long and happy life even HIV positive, so long as you continue to take your medications.

NO, the governmet realizes that more money can be made by making drugs that will lengthen a persons life with aids or hiv rather than curing them. If you are cured or dead, you cant buy anymore of their drugs.
Think of it like a drug dealer. If they were to come up with a drug that puts you on a permanent high, will they make as much easy money? Drug dealers make their money on the come-backs!

the virus causing AIDS changes its external structure very often and that is why a vaccine can't be done; it's the same with the viruses causing flu.
while u can have a vaccine for hepatitis b as the virus causing it is very stable; viruses whose information is coded as RNA not DNA r stable

yes they actually just cured a man with aids and he don't have it no more all you have to do is type it up and it will tell you about the man who got cured..but hey if you can stick around for at least 5-10 years most likely your going to be cured..and hey i wish the best for you

and read this it is hope after al

much love

I was told there is no cure for HIV. But people live 20years. Not the age 20 but yeah. You can live longer as long as you believe that you will...the main this is that you stick positive. Live life as is everyday was your last.

Yes, there is hope. They learn more and more about it all the time and it can't hurt to hope for the cure, it is not unreasonable either.

there is hope if you beleave in God,thats the only way coz he created you and he can reform you ether.
keep on praying and beleave u can be ok and you wont die of it.
THRUST.

I have heard there are people actually immune to the virus. Here's a link to WHO- http://www.who.int/hiv/topics/vaccines/V...

I believe so. Someday. I have a feeling that it will probably come around in 20 years. Of course.. It will be the most significant scientific discovery ever made!

There is always hope. Don't lose it.

no.. i dont yet!
