My Friend May Have, HPV and/or HIV...Now What?

I just got news not even 24 hours ago that a very near and dear friend may have HPV and/or HIV. :( :( :(

Please, I do not know all of the information as of now just what I could decipher from the phone, my friend was extremely emotional whilst talking.

- are these two (HPV / HIV) similar or completely different?

- is cancer(s) associated with HPV?

- if one were to be diagnosed with HPV, is it possible that they too can have HIV?

- is there a "survival rate" if so, what are they? -__-

yes cancer is possible, there are like a ton of different types of HPV. I think like between 60-80 but only 10 of them are associated with cancer. HPV and HIV are completely different. HPV you can live with HIV you will eventually die from. When you are diagnosed with a sexual transmitted disease your chances are twice as high for getting another such as HIV. HIV will kill you most people with it live an average of 12 years with a decent treatment program. HPV is treatable. Either way I highly suggest your friend is wearing condoms or at least tell the person they are having sex with the possibility. I know it can be hard to tell someone this but that's a big reason why its spreads anyways.
