Does anyone know what this disease could be?

My husband was telling me about a child in his daycare class that has some sort of disease. When he/she uses the bathroom it has to be bleached and cleaned before anyone can go in again. It's not HIV or AIDS he knows that, he was told the name but can't remember it. If the child calls in sick he/she has to stay out for at least 10 days before he /she can come back. I was just curious as to what this could be. I've never heard of anything like this before. If anyone has an idea I would like to know. Sorry I don't have more info but thats all he was told. The child isn't in his actual class.

I'm not sure, that sounds scary, and I'm surprised they allow the child around other kids. It's sad but if bleach is needed it sounds like it can be transferred easily. Good luck, sorry I didn't answer your question.

Yikes. I have no idea but here are a few uneducated guesses of my own: TB, meningitis...that is all I can think of. Anyways its some communicable disease that is obviously chronic and contagious.

i don't really know but maybe its diarea but still call your doctor and ask him /her what this means and i think its realy nice how you are trying to find out this disease to help this child i think its really nice how you care about others and i wish you good luck

I would look into why this kid is allowed in public school if they have to use bleach when he/she goes to the bathroom. Sounds scary...sorry

Sounds like Hepatitis A. It's common among children. This could explain why they bleach the toilet after every use because without cleaning that's how it could spread to other children. It usually last about 6 months in a child.
