Why do medical and science advancements take so long to make it into the media?

Yet by the next morning we'll all know what Britney Spears is now doing or the latest pop culture. I think knowing what's going on in medicine and science is important to the advancement of the human race, disease information, ect.

So why is it when something BAD happens, (like HIV/AIDS for example) people want to shout, "why didn't anyone tell us before now?" I think maybe they HAVE, just no one wants to pay the "science geek" any attention.

don't blame the media when celebrity "news", elections and the war are what's selling papers. the media is a business and for all their sqwak about journalistic integrity the fact is they have to sell their papers, mags and programs.
except for the AP who WOULD keep up with this.

Because the media is controlled by an elite group that is sucking you all dry that is why and human value to them doesn't extend beyond their wants and needs.

The media's job is not necessarily to educate and inform, there main job is ratings and entertainment.

because of the years in research. i've been on a study medication going on 2 years now and i know the dotors have been doing this study @least 2 years before i started and all thered tape that is involved is hurendous i just cant believe it.
