HIV question!!!?

My ex husband had a gay relationship at the age of 18!!! found out at 34 that he has HIV positive, would it have possibly laid dormant for that amount of time!

Initially, you need to get yourself checked out and then look for answers to these questions. The HIV virus (untreated) presents with various opportunistic infections and if your husband has been infected for such a longtime then their would be some level of illness... unless he has commenced HAART. I suggest that once you have your HIV test then deal with issues around honesty. The very best of luck.

Sure. People who become infected with HIV may have no symptoms for up to 10 years or longer, but they can still pass the infection to others. After being exposed to the virus, blood tests results change from HIV negative to HIV positive usually within 3 months.
People who are asymptomatic but who have CD4 lymphocyte counts of less than 200 should be on therapy.

Unlikely that he first got the HIV virus 16 years before he found out. He could have gotten it much more recently from unprotected sex with a woman, even you if you appear well and have a silent infection. These days new HIV infections are almost equal between men and women, regardless of whether or not they are gay.
