What are the odds of getting HIV when not using a condom i know the risk is high, but is it like 100%?

Assuming the person im having sex with IS hiv positive

It depends on many factors, but on avg. the risk is relatively low when compared to other infectious/contagious diseases. I was unsuccessful at finding the link, but I remember reading the risk is like 1 or 2%. I had to do a report on this for my medical microbiology class, and I included many statistics. This is pretty much why the whole world is not infected right now because many many people have unsafe sex. Imagine if it were any higher...

There are way too many factors that can affect the answer.

Viral load of the infected person (the amount of virus in his/her blood)

Whether the infectee is male/female (it's easier for a woman to catch HIV from a man than vice versa)

Vaginal sex? Anal sex? Obviously the risk is higher with anal sex.

Other STDs? Having some types of STDs can make you more susceptible to HIV.

How much CCL3L1 (a gene that helps "fight" HIV) does the infectee have?

There are many other factors besides these. In fact, condoms aren't 100% effective against HIV. Some latex condoms can have tiny holes; the larger bacterial STDs can't get through these holes, but the smaller HIV virus can.

I'd say 100%, because if they have it, there are so many ways they could pass it on to you, ESPECIALLY if you have sex without a condom. I wouldn't even think about risking it, do you really want to be stuck with a disease your entire life that will inevitably kill you? Think about it.
