Kissing leads to HIV/STD?

if u kiss or make out with someone who is HIV/STD positive can u get this from them?

The only thing that you may possibly get from kissing someone could be genital herpes. This depends on where you kiss them or if they happen to have gotten them from doing other things, and can only be transfered if you have open sores. This is apparent if they do have them you will know. Anything else is impossible to get from kissing. It would take a whole lot of saliva to get HIV or AIDS and the amount is impossible to transfer in kissing. Then again we come back to the open sores thing again.

HIV is not present in saliva. Unless you and the person you are kissing have open cuts or sores in your mouth, you can't get HIV from kissing someone. Herpes may be transmitted by kissing because symptoms can include sores on/in the mouth.

You would have to intake about three gallons of his/her saliva or you have open sores in your mouth. The biggest way of catching HIV or other STD's is to have intercourse. Your risk of catching HIV from making out with someone is very very low, but nonetheless there is always a risk.

I'm not sure about HIV, but I know STD's aren't contagious through kissing. That's why it's called an STD: sexually transmitted disease. If you could get it by kissing we'd probably all have herpes by now.

Sexually Transmitted Diseases are called that for a reason.....they are sexually transmitted. There is no way they can be transmitted through saliva.

only if you both had open sores kissing wont get you HIV check with your local health department they have information on all of this.
