Can I get aids this way?

Hi my sister in law is Hiv positive.recenly i had my wisdom tooth pulled out and it wasnt healed yet she was drinking a can of coke and I shared it with her .Can I get hiv that way because my gums had not healed?

No.

The HIV virus is spread primarily through semen and blood, and sometimes through breast milk and vaginal fluids. Not saliva, or sweat, or tears, or any other bodily fluids.

Her salivia, even in an open sore, will not give you HIV.

Still, I would be careful about when you have an open sore on your mouth. Don't kiss anyone or give oral sex until your mouth is healed.

Um.. man, situations like this have me on the edge..I mean only because she has been diagnosed as HIV+ and it is a for sure for sure. I can't say it is not impossible, but I think it would be rare that the likelyhood of that happening. I wouldn't hesitate to not get tested in the meanwhile for the next 3 months just to be on the safe side. I am sorry.. but situations like that would have me on the edge as body fluids were exchanged from the soda can to the mouth and what not, but there is a possibility that anything would of died immediately as it touches the air.

She would have to have a cut in her mouth as well and her blood would have to of got onto your cut...so no your not at risk...but be more careful next time

only if she had smeared blood all around the top of the can. which i very much doubt. and it would still not be a sure thing.
