I have a RENT (the musical) question?

I always thought neither Maureen nor Joanne were HIV positive, but this poses a question. Towards the end of the second act, Mark is wondering what will happen to him when all of his friends die and he is all alone. Does this mean that Maureen and Joanne have HIV/AIDS?

Is the actor Wilson Jermaine Heredia (the original Angel) actually gay?

For the whole Angel question, I was just wondering because my friend and I were talking about it, and she said that only someone who was actually a drag queen could play him that well and I was on the side that said that he's just a great actor and it doesn't really matter either way. Just wanted to settle the random argument 8-)

No they do not have AIDS, I think that he was referring to his two close friends collins and rodger. The actor Wilson is not gay he is actually married, to a woman, and has children.

He's not necessarily wondering what will happen when all his friends die... just most of them. Remember, Roger, Mimi, Collins and Angel are all HIV+. Joanne and Maureen are not, but they're sort of separate... they don't seem to hang out with Mark much unless it's in a big group or there's a show coming up. In fact, Joanne outright avoids him, and his relationship with Maureen is... well, weird. Poor guy...

As to whether Wilson is gay... I don't know. Does it really matter? The point is, he's a good actor, and he plays the part exceedingly well.
