How can this person have HIV? |
Female, early 20s, virgin, no sexual contact with anyone ever, never in any operation, never received blood donations. Completely safe from HIV as long as she can remember. She was diagnosed negative 2 years ago so she was not born HIV positive, but now she got a positive diagnosis. How is this possible? Does anyone know of similar cases? You don't mention whether she used drugs or not. Heavy drug use could cause the virus if (1) she had sex under the influence of a substance and cannot recall or (2) she shared a needle while injecting drugs. Sounds like the person who is writing this story has a problem.. if you never had unprotected sex, shared needles, or came in contact with blood like if u were helpin someone who was bleedin.. there is no way.. doesn't sound right to me if someone is a virgin, not an injection drug user and doesn't recall drinking the blood of an hiv positive person than I think it's maybe false?? She needs to have a confirmation test called the Western Blot. Then, if this confirms, she need to be honest about needle sharing (even once) or anal intercourse. the most prevelant way then is iv drug use, or she lied and was putting it out like mcdonalds does, b/c thats the only way she would've got it maybe someone's HIV positive blood touched an open wound on her body? I would ask for a repeat test. |
